Philippine Perfect World and its Darker Side.

I had this discussion with some Forum Moderators and Admins in pwboards, Regarding the Clan Section. Link to that discussion

This is because we want to make the PW message boards a better place for gathering information. Unrelated topics are filtered out.

Clans should make their own forums, allowing them more in-depth discussion, tactics (you will need this especially when territorial war comes), and more out of topic chat.

Why did he said that? Because they dont allow any simple hi-hellos in Clan Section.

Tataczab, your points were exactly what some of the moderators here pointed out when we were meeting about the structure. The original structure didn’t even have a clan section since the GMs wanted a more informative message boards. We debated on this, indicating that Clans are like families, an integral part of the community.

I already told the Immortals (no, they are not only Forum Moderators, you’ll be seeing more of them in-game) to have a certain degree of leniency on the clan threads. Any idle chit chat will be regarded as spam. If you discuss clan activities (e.g. clan signatures, boosting up clan morale, EBs, in-game experiences that will help recruitment), they’re perfectly allowed. What the GMs and Immortals don’t want to see are those posts that would not help anyone, and would just take up space and eat up bandwidth. Don’t mind ZhuanXu’s post about Instant Messengers, it was a suggestion.

One other reason why we’re being “strict” here is to guide everyone on how to post constructively, which would benefit the majority in the long run.

Basically, they dont want any chit chat. they regard it as a spam.

counter post of Apollon to my post.

The forum moderators you see here ARE player volunteers. You would know this if you read the FAQ.

And, the rules of the clan sections are that way based on research. When the rules and structure for PW boards was made, the moderating team from the other games, ROSE, RF and RO, were pulled together and clan/guild sections were specifically mentioned.

Moral and disciplined? I can assure you that the people assigned here are both and more — experienced in forum moderation.

I have already told the team to increase the degree of leniency on the clan threads. Spam is still NOT allowed. Discussion of clan activities, plans, and constructive discussion are allowed since these help in recruitment. Meaningless posts will be tolerated only to a certain point. If a warning is given, then that means that the thread has gone overboard.

I have sifted through the clan threads and only a few seem to have problems. Those that were here during Closed Beta know how serious we are about the rules.

Ang ibon paghinigpitan mo ang hawak, masasakal. Pag naman niluwagan mo, makakawala.” Enough said.

counter post of Asche regarding the “Interactive”

Where better to interact with other clans than in-game? The message boards is a place to find information. Anything else regarding the game would be in the game. I believe there is this prevailing thought that fun is being stifled, and I suppose that they can’t be blamed for thinking so. However, there is more to the game than just the boards. When Open Beta starts, lets think on the issue and check if we now see things in a different light.

In-game, you can set up buddy lists (and organize them in groups, even), or start private chat with multiple people (like a YM conference). Even better, you can “see” them and go adventuring with them. There are limitless possibilities.

This made me laugh so hard, while posting a counter post for this, Im ROFL.

I’ve posted a long sentence and the idea and point is that; Not all PC in the Phil have PW, And players cant always manage to log ingame anytime they wanted to. The very fact that PW have a very high Requirements for iCafe to download it.

posted by Apollon, regarding the Chit Chat Section.

This boards will follow the Level Up! protocol: No off-topic sections. Period.

I hope you are not threatening to boycott the boards, because you will be penalized for doing so. But, since we’re discussing that, I’ll let it slide. The part where multiple moderators posted in a clan thread has already been resolved since the GMs and I have already instructed the others to avoid that.

If you see a GM, or myself, post, then that means a thread is about to be closed, especially if it’s in the clan recruitment section. You failed to see my point as well. We learned from our mistakes, and that is to allow clan threads to become breeding grounds for spam. Fights sometimes erupt, threads become unbelievable long and there’s nothing much in it to read. Like I said, you can discuss about your clan, your clan activities, and your plans for the game. All we ask for is to tone down the spam.

timpaul, I have asked the moderators to allow clan interaction provided there is still something to discuss. Simple Hi-hellos between clans will not be allowed, but if you wish to discuss something about the game, then go ahead. We’ll be adding some notes in the pinned thread to make things clearer.

Ragnaboards and FlyFF are both from Level Up, And they have both chit chats.

And i had this sig, i forgot whats in it and they edited it without notifying me, they say that their Forum Moderators are Experienced, so why is that? Editing my sig without even notifying my a single message or warn? And they did it not once, but thrice.

All of my friends are saying the same opinion, they have a negative look in this forum, hopefully not ingame.

And i got pissed to this one >> Link

Dont he know that he can just WARN me, rather than CLOSING IT!? Is that what they call professional? A Self Proclaimed Professional.

Proof for being a Self Proclaimed Professional? Here. I think 10 years is not enough. LOL.

This is all what i got for today, maybe if i see any unprofessional act of the GMs, Ill post some.

Thank you for reading :) .
